主讲人简介：

Dr Pal Peter SCHMITT，工大名誉教授（Honorary Professor），首相办公室欧盟总干事（Director General for EU Coordination, Institutional and Legal Affairs at the EU State Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office）

Mr Schmitt has been Director General for EU Coordination, Institutional and Legal Affairs at the EU State Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office since December 2014. He is also the representative of Hungary in the Government Group of the REFIT Platform established by the European Commission in January 2016.

He served as Consul General of Hungary to Shanghai in 2013-2014. Earlier he worked as head of the Foreign Affairs Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (State Secretariat for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations) and as a foreign policy advisor at the Prime Minister’s International Desk.

Before entering public service, Mr Schmitt worked as a lawyer at Hungarian law firms specializing mainly in intellectual property protection and advertisement law. During that time, he gained work experience at a domestic Chinese law firm in Beijing, too.

At an early stage of his career, he was a foreign policy editor at the News Section of Duna Television in Hungary.

For a short time in 2005, he was a trainee at the Hungarian EPP-ED Delegation in the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg.

He has a degree in legal and political sciences (MA) from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University of Hungary, and a specialized degree in international relations (MA) from the Corvinus University of Budapest. In 2014 he was appointed honorary professor of Zhejiang University of Technology in China.

Mr Schmitt was born in 1984. He speaks Hungarian (mother tongue), English and Spanish.
